A lot of NBA teams this offseason will be meeting a new face at the head coaching position.

The Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and the Indiana Pacers are all looking for someone new to lead their franchise in the next NBA season.

With that said, there are also some top-level names that could be seeing themselves in a completely new team next year.

Some names include: Brett Brown, Alvin Gentry, Nate McMillan, Kenny Atkingson, Tyronn Lue, Jason Kidd, Mark Jackson, and Jeff Van Gundy are a few big names that have hit the rumor pool.

One particular NBA team has a specific target for the coach they are looking for. the Chicago Bulls are, of course, in the mix for a big-name coach, but are willing to talk to some top assistant coaches as well.

A list sent out by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski put forward of assistants the Bulls have gotten some permission to talk to.

Among the assistant coaches granted permission to talk to Chicago from eliminated teams, sources said: Dallas Mavericks assistants Jamahl Mosley and Stephen Silas, Philadelphia's Ime Udoka and one candidate -- Minnesota associate head coach David Vanterpool -- whose team didn't qualify for the restart, sources said. --ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski

If we are talking about assistant coaches that should be up for head coaching hire, then Trail Blazers Associate head coach Nate Tibbetts should also be on this list of names.

In 2016 and in 2019, Tibbetts reportedly interviewed for the head coaching vacancy in Memphis. He reportedly interviewed for the Atlanta Hawks opening in 2018. He was also considered for the Cleveland Cavaliers job.

For the Bulls, especially with a younger roster and talent such as Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Coby White, and Wendell Carter, Tibbetts has earned a shot at getting an opportunity to coach a team like the Bulls.

Bull want a fresh start, Tibbetts could be that start they are looking for.

The Blazers were a team that experts had already counted out of even getting close into the playoffs when the NBA restart was getting back into play

Nine games later, the Blazers make it to the 8th and were not going down without a fight in each game.

The Lakers sadly eliminated the Blazers in Game 5 of their series, but the team should the NBA world that they should be feared when they are a healthy squad.

Could we see Tibbetts get a run in the head coaching department this coming season? Who knows at this point, and the season is fresh from being out.

But with what the Blazers team in the bubble with the hand they were dealt with, some teams should  think about looking towards the northwest for a fresh face in Tibbetts.

Look for this NBA offseason to be an interesting one, indeed.
