Bill Johnson feature by Jim McKay from 2002 Olympics (video)

Bill Johnson, the 1984 Olympic downhill champion, attempted a comeback at age 40 to make the 2002 Olympic team, but that ended on March 22, 2001, when Johnson crashed in a race and suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Johnson died Thursday at age 55.

Longtime Olympic broadcaster Jim McKay profiled Johnson, from his Olympic triumph through his life-changing crash and rehabilitation, for NBC at the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Games.
