Massachusetts native Casey Affleck will star in and produce a film about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings based on an upcoming book titled, “Boston Strong,” according to reports.

Variety has details:

Based on the book “Boston Strong” by Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge, the spec was written by “The Fighter” scribes Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy and follows the massive manhunt to apprehend the two men believed to be responsible for the bombings, as well as examining the city’s reaction following the events.

Affleck graduated from the same high school as the two men who allegedly carried out the bombings at the world’s oldest annual marathon on April 15, 2013.
