Olympic 800m silver medalist Caster Semenya said she will consider attempting to race the 400m and the 800m at the Rio Olympics, according to multiple South African reports.

Semenya took 800m gold at the 2009 World Championships, which sparked a gender-testing controversy, and then silver at the 2011 Worlds and 2012 Olympics, both behind a Russian who may receive a lifetime doping ban.

She has struggled since the London Games, failing to qualify for 2013 Worlds and finishing last in her 2015 Worlds semifinal, while dealing with injuries and a coaching change.

Those were all 800m races.

Semenya, 25, has never raced the 400m at a senior global championship. Her personal best, 51.47 seconds set March 12, would not have qualified for the 2015 Worlds final won by Allyson Felix in 49.26.

In Rio, the women’s 400m final is Aug. 15. The women’s 800m first round is Aug. 17.
