Jason Brown leads the field in the final event of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the men’s free skate live on NBC and NBC Sports Live Extra in Greensboro, N.C., on Sunday afternoon.

Brown, who gained famed for his “Riverdance” program last season, was 2.96 points ahead of 2013 World junior champion Joshua Farris and 3.43 clear of four-time U.S. champion Jeremy Abbott after the short program Friday.

If Brown, 20, can hang on, he will become the youngest U.S. men’s champion since Johnny Weir won the first of his three straight U.S. titles in 2004.

Both the national championship and three spots on the World Championships team are on the line.
