The World Figure Skating Championships continue Friday with the pairs short program and men’s free skate, live on NBCSN and NBC Sports Live Extra starting at 3 p.m. ET.

In pairs, Russian Olympic champions Tatyana Volosozhar and Maksim Trankov are at Worlds for the first time since their Sochi triumph two years ago.

They are this season’s Russian and European champions but could be in for a tough fight with Olympic teammates Ksenia Stolbova and Fedor Klimov, the Grand Prix Final winners.

U.S. champions Tarah Kayne and Danny O’Shea and Grand Prix Finalists Alexa Scimeca and Chris Knierim will look to make it two American pairs in the top 10 for the first time since 2010. A U.S. pair last earned a Worlds medal in 2002.

The pairs short program skate order and highlighted skaters:

Kayne/O’Shea (USA) -- 3:18 p.m. ET
Volosozhar/Trankov (RUS) -- 4:13 p.m. ET
Stolbova/Klimov (RUS) -- 4:27 p.m. ET
Sui/Han (CHN) -- 4:33 p.m. ET
Scimeca/Knierim (USA) -- 4:40 p.m. ET
Duhamel/Radford (CAN) -- 4:46 p.m. ET

WATCH LIVE: Pairs Short Program: 3-5 p.m. ET

Later, Yuzuru Hanyu will look to defend the greatest short-program lead at a Worlds or Olympics under this scoring system in the men’s free skate.

The Japanese Olympic champion has a 12.04-point cushion over defending World champion Javier Fernandez of Spain. Three-time World champion Patrick Chan of Canada is third.

The top two U.S. men -- seventh-place Adam Rippon and eighth-place Max Aaron -- must improve a net two places in the free skate to keep three men’s spots for the 2017 Worlds.

The men’s free skate start order and highlighted skaters:

Grant Hochstein (USA) -- 7:58 p.m. ET
Max Aaron (USA) -- 9:19 p.m. ET
