Golf: USA’s Lewis rockets up leaderboard, one behind South Korea’s Park

American golfer Stacy Lewis fired an 8-under 63 to pace the field in the second round of women’s golf at the Olympic Golf Course, climbing to within a stroke of the lead.

South Korea’s Inbee Park has the overall lead after shooting 66 for the second-straight day

USA’s Lexi Thompson shot 71 to drop into a tie for 22nd after failing to meet the standard she set with an opening round 68.

Fellow American golfer Gerina Piller was under par for a second-straight round, rising to 8th with a 67.

First round leader Ariya Jutanugarn fell off, carding a 71. She’s now six-under. World No. 1 Lydia Ko (New Zealand) shot 70, and is tied with Thompson for the tournament.
