The Russian-based KHL will add a team in Sochi for the 2014-15 season, it announced Wednesday, confirming reports from late last year that the 2014 Olympic host city will have a club in the second strongest hockey league in the world.

The team does not have an official name yet, the KHL said on Facebook on Wednesday, though the team has been named the Sochi Leopards by the regional governor, according to The Associated Press.

In December, Russian sports minister Vitaly Mutko said the club was expected to named “Delfin,” Russian for “Dolphin,” and would play in the Bolshoy Ice Dome, site of the Olympic medal round hockey games, according to R-Sport.

It may also play in Shayba Arena, the other Sochi Olympic hockey venue, the AP reported Wednesday.

Recently, plans were announced to revive Sochi’s club soccer team and have it play in Fisht Stadium, site of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
