Mikaela Shiffrin will try to extend her slalom dominance in the World Championships, live on NBC and NBC Sports Live Extra on Saturday.

Shiffrin, who became the youngest Olympic slalom champion in Sochi, is trying to defend her World title in the slalom in Beaver Creek, Colo.

She’s in great shape after the morning run, .40 ahead of second-place Frida Hansdotter of Sweden. Shiffrin is trying to become the second woman since World War II to repeat as World champion in the event, joining Croatian legend Janica Kostelic.

The combined time from the morning run and this afternoon’s run will determine the medalists.
