The Rio government organization Cidade Olimpica published two videos this week looking at the progress of the main 2016 Olympic Park.
Barra Olympic Park, known as the heart of the Games, will include nine venues hosting sports including swimming, gymnastics, diving, track cycling, tennis, wrestling, fencing, water polo, taekwondo, handball and judo.
It is about a half of a square mile, roughly half the size of the London 2012 Olympic Park.
The above video looks at the construction of the park plus animations of what the finished venues will look like next year. It’s similar to a video published by the city of Rio de Janeiro in December.
The video below is more of a standard timelapse of construction.
The Rio Olympic Opening Ceremony is Aug. 5, 2016.
