The Arizona Cardinals are going for speed, hiring 1984 and 1988 Olympic 110m hurdles champion Roger Kingdom as an assistant strength and conditioning coach Thursday.

Kingdom used to train under Buddy Morris, who was hired as the Cardinals’ head strength and conditioning coach on Tuesday. Kingdom has football experience, having played running back and free safety at the University of Pittsburgh.

One of the Cardinals’ stars, cornerback Patrick Peterson, trained under four-time Olympic sprint medalist Ato Boldon leading up to being drafted No. 5 overall by Arizona in 2011.
