Ryan Lochte is scheduled to swim competitively for the first time in more than two months at an Athens, Ga., meet next week, his publicist confirmed.

The 11-time Olympic medalist hasn’t competed since scratching out of the final day of the Mesa Grand Prix on April 26, citing an aggravation of his surgically repaired left knee. It’s undecided how much Lochte will race in Athens, his coach told SwimSwam.

Lochte’s health is a focus going into the U.S. Championships, Aug. 6-10 in Irvine, Calif., a selection meet for the biggest international meets of 2014 and 2015.

Rival Michael Phelps is also expected to swim in the Athens meet, according to SwimSwam. It would be the fourth meet of his comeback after he took 20 months off following the 2012 Olympics.
