For many Olympians around the world, the Opening Ceremony is the moment that makes them say, ‘It was all worth it.’

Surrounded by their peers and taken into a stadium filled with screaming fans, it’s their time to bask in the glory of having made it to one of sport’s biggest stages after battling for years to get there.

The athletes’ jobs are not yet done, but for one night, that’s put aside as pins-and-needles anxiousness gives way to unbridled joy for themselves, their families and all who’ve ever supported them in one way or another.

NBCSN’s SportsDash continued its countdown to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games by letting Team USA athletes bring us an inside look at what it’s like to be part of this special event.
