Group F of the women’s Olympic soccer tournament is considered by some to be the toughest of the three groups, with three of the four teams currently ranked in the top ten of FIFA’s world rankings. Germany (2nd), Australia (5th) and Canada (10th) are all in Group F, with Zimbabwe being the fourth team. Wednesday afternoon Canada will take on Australia at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paolo (2:00 p.m., ET on NBCSN).

Canada is looking to improve upon its bronze medal finish at the London Olympics four years ago, while Australia has never won an Olympic medal in women’s soccer. Both teams were eliminated from last summer’s Women’s World Cup in the quarterfinal round, with Australia losing 1-0 to eventual runner-up Japan and Canada losing 2-1 to England. Both teams will be led by veteran forwards, with Christine Sinclair back to captain the Canadian side and Lisa De Vanna serving as a co-captain (defender Clare Polkinghorne will wear the armband for the opener) for the Matildas.

In addition to streaming on NBCOlympics.com, the match will also be available on the NBC Sports app.
