The men’s singles tennis competition is into the semifinal round, and the last two gold medalists in the event are still alive. Great Britain’s Andy Murray will be playing in the first semifinal against Japan’s Kei Nishikori, with Nishikori coming off of a three-set win over France’s Gael Monfils. The other semifinal matches Spain’s Rafael Nadal, who won gold in men’s doubles Friday night, and Argentina’s Juan Martin Del Potro.

Three of the top four seeds are in the men’s singles semis with Del Potro, who beat top seed Novak Djokovic, being the lone exception. Those two semifinals will be followed by the women’s bronze and gold medal matches, with American Madison Keys playing for bronze.
