It’s showtime for some of the biggest names in the world as track and field finally begins its run --and throw, and walk -- at the Rio Olympics.

Men’s discus, women’s heptathlon, women’s shot put, men’s 800m, women’s 100m prelim, and the women’s 10,000m final all hit your screens on Friday. WATCH LIVE

Then, 1:30 p.m. EDT has the men’s race walking final. WATCH LIVE

Even more stars come out at night, with men’s 400m and long jump joining women’s 100m round 1 amongst the following events: women’s 1500, women’s hammer throw, women’s shot put, and women’s 1500m.

Keep an eye out for LaShawn Merritt and Michelle Carter, as well as Grenada’s Kirani James and South Africa’s Wayde van Niekerk. WATCH LIVE
