Well, it finally happened.
After all the hype videos and claims that he’d take shots if they’re open, Ben Simmons hit a three with time winding down before the half in the Sixers’ preseason opener against the Guangzhou Loong-Lions.
And it’s wasn’t a cheapy. Simmons hit what Marc Zumoff would call a healthy three (see video above).

Joel Embiid yelled at him to take it and then acted like he hit a game-winner after it went in. The crowd also acted accordingly, giving Simmons a standing ovation.
Simmons' shot has looked better in the portions of practice open to the media and during pregame warmups. He looks more balanced and has less wasted motion.
Yes, it was only an exhibition game against a team from the Chinese Basketball Association, but it’s an encouraging start.
