Ben Simmons was forced to exit Saturday’s huge matchup against the Bucks just five minutes into the first quarter.

Simmons, who missed Thursday’s win over the Nets with lower back soreness, seemed to tweak his back after being fouled on a drive by Brook Lopez. He will not return to the game.

Initially, the team said that Simmons would be leaving the game and heading to the locker room periodically for treatment, but Matisse Thybulle appeared to purposefully foul Khris Middleton on the ensuing possession to get Simmons off the floor.

Brett Brown has indicated recently that we could see Alec Burks as the team’s primary ball handler at times. With Simmons out, Brown went with Burks and also used Shake Milton.

After the Sixers' nightmarish loss to the Bucks, the news didn't get much better as Simmons will reportedly have an MRI on his back Sunday.
