In a bit of not-entirely-crazy Sixers news, Joel Embiid is one of the headliners in the NBA Africa Game 2018.

The game will be held at 5 p.m. CAT at Sun Arena at Times Square in Pretoria, South Africa, on Aug. 4.

This will be the NBA’s third game in Africa.

Embiid, from Cameroon, headlines Team Africa and will be joined by his Sixers teammate Timothy Luwawu-Cabarrot, who has a parent from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“I was fortunate to participate in Basketball Without Borders Africa first as a camper and then last year as a coach,” Embiid said in a statement. “To play in the NBA’s third game in Africa is truly special to me, and I can’t wait to take the floor in front of our fans in Africa.”

Team Africa also includes Serge Ibaka (Congo), Al-Farouq Aminu (parents from Nigeria), Bismarck Biyombo (Congo), Cheick Diallo (Mali), Evan Fournier (parent from Algeria) and Pascal Siakam (Cameroon).

They’ll face Team World, which will be led by DeMar DeRozan (U.S.) and includes Harrison Barnes (U.S.), Danilo Gallinari (Italy), Rudy Gay (U.S.), Khris Middleton (U.S.) and Embiid’s favorite nemesis, Hassan Whiteside (U.S.)

The full rosters will be released later.

Tickets will be available starting June 15.
