The Sixers will be investigating allegations by a former dance team member of bullying and racial discrimination, the team announced.

Yahne Coleman, a member of the Sixers dance team from 2013 to 2015, alleges that she was “bullied and racially targeted.” Singer Trey Songz posted on Instagram about the allegations Tuesday night, including a video from 2016 in which a woman who Coleman says is former Sixers dancer Annie Weiss, makes profane and derogatory comments. Weiss was last on the Sixers dance squad in 2013, according to a statement by the Sixers.

Coleman says that, after three years on the team, she auditioned for a fourth year and “this group of girls called me the night before on the phone saying 'your BLACK ass will not be coming back.'" Among her other allegations is that, after her time with the Sixers ended following that audition, the dance team members would “harass me by calling and leaving hateful racial videos saying they would come to the slums of West Philly Ghetto and physically harm me.”

(Warning: Video contains profane language.)

The post includes a screenshot of what is purportedly an email from 2016 that includes Sixers COO Lara Price informing Coleman the Sixers would promptly look into it after the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

Songz also posted a screenshot of what appears to be an exchange with Weiss in which Weiss claimed that Coleman threatened her husband and children.

Weiss on Wednesday apologized on Instagram for “recording an awful, disrespectful, disgusting and inexcusable video.”

Below is the Sixers’ statement on the matter:

Tonight, we were made aware of social media posts involving former dance team members that contained insensitive, offensive and unacceptable remarks, as well as allegations of bullying and racist behavior.

"The videos, which were filmed in 2016, featured derogatory comments from a former dance team member who left the organization in 2013.

"We take this situation very seriously. We intend to investigate this matter immediately and remain committed to fostering a culture of inclusion and equality.
