Let’s get to Tuesday night's storylines:
All about Dwyane
With all the added festivities and tributes in store for Wade, including a pregame ceremony, expect tonight’s tip to be closer to 7:50 p.m. EST. Be on the lookout for all the celebrities and athletes in attendance tonight.
What type of final home game will Wade have? Will it be like Kobe Bryant who went off for 60 points, took 50 shots and played 42 minutes? Will LeBron James or Shaq be sitting courtside with Chris Bosh? Will Wade block a shot? Will he be introduced in the starting lineup intro for a final time? (He’s come off the bench all season long).
Whatever the case, it will be a night to remember.
The Sixers have already secured the third seed in this year's playoff race, but it’s a different story for Miami. Though highly unlikely (somewhere around the range of 1 percent), there is still one scenario in which the Heat could secure the final playoff spot. Miami would have to win tonight and Wednesday against Brooklyn, while the Detroit Pistons would have to lose their final two home games and the Charlotte Hornets would have to lose at least one of their remaining two games.
Joel Embiid (load management/left knee soreness), JJ Redick (back tightness) and Mike Scott (lower-back tightness) are all taking tonight off, while Jonah Bolden remains questionable with knee soreness. (Remember James Ennis is also out with a quad contusion.) That means a very limited roster for the Sixers tonight, which may even give Furkan Korkmaz (available for the first time since tearing his meniscus back in February) some time on the court. Brett Brown has said that Korkmaz hasn't been ruled out as an option in the rotation come playoff time.
