Tobias Harris to meet with Sixers at start of free agency, league source confirms

While all the rumors and reports have been flying around about Jimmy Butler over the past few days, things have been relatively quiet regarding Tobias Harris.

We now have some news: Tobias Harris will meet with the Sixers at 6 p.m. tonight, a league source confirmed. The Athletic's David Aldridge first reported the news.

The New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy had reported last week that Harris had meetings planned on the East Coast Sunday and on the West Coast Monday.

Like with Butler, the Sixers have Harris' Bird Rights and are the only team able to offer him a five-year, $190 million max deal.

The 26-year-old, acquired from the Clippers in February, averaged 18.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 27 regular-season games with the Sixers. He had a breakout performance in Game 3 of the first round of the playoffs against the Nets but generally had an underwhelming postseason.

The Sixers gave up a significant amount in the trade for Harris, Mike Scott and Boban Marjanovic, including Landry Shamet and Miami's unprotected first-round pick in 2021. It would make sense if they bank on the continued growth of his game.
