CSN Philadelphia will host the 7th Annual Shining Star Awards benefitting the March of Dimes presented by Greater Delaware Valley Audi Dealers  on Wednesday, January 11 at Vie on North Broad Street. The gala dinner has raised $2 million for the March of Dimes in six years.
At the event on January 11, eight local children representing the urgent needs of the March of Dimes will be presented with their awards from players from the Philadelphia 76ers, Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Union.  A special video presentation will be shown which documents the child’s remarkable life and their day spent with their favorite athlete. These children honorees include:

The Philadelphia Flyers Alumni Association will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. First founded in 1984 as the Philadelphia Legends, the non-profit organization has raised approximately $14 million for a variety of charitable, civic, educational and other worthy causes that directly benefit those in need throughout the metropolitan area. The Alumni's fundraising goals are accomplished through a variety of fundraising events, such as the annual Alumni Golf Invitational and Fantasy Hockey Camp and through benefit hockey games involving the Flyers Alumni Team. Additionally, members of the Flyers Alumni annually volunteer their time for community outreach programs and are regular attendees at school programs and civic events.  The Flyers Alumni announced a new initiative to honor Ed Snider by building a new ice rink.  Together working with Snider Youth Hockey, the Alumni pledged to raise $2 million dollars towards the construction and completion of the Edward M. Snider Ice Rink.
Those attending Shining Star Awards gala will have the opportunity to meet the honorees and bid on sports and entertainment packages, autographed memorabilia, hotel packages and once in a lifetime opportunities including the Shining Star Package featuring four VIP tickets to the five sports teams and behind the scenes experiences, plus autographed team jerseys.
The Greater Delaware Valley Audi Dealers has signed on a presenting sponsor for the 2017 event.
