Delaware blown away in 2nd half by Northeastern

BOSTON — Donnell Gresham Jr. scored all of his 17 points in the second half, Vasa Pusica added 16, and Northeastern scored 48 second-half points to beat Delaware 79-61 on Saturday to win its third straight.

The Huskies (13-7, 6-2 Colonial Athletic Association) at one point were shooting nearly 64 percent from the floor in the second half and finished 25 of 53 (47 percent), making 9 of 20 from 3.

Anthony Green scored six points in an 11-2 run and the Huskies led 39-33, but Ryan Daly's 3 capped a 9-2 run and Delaware retook the lead 42-41. Bolden Brace's dunk ended a 12-2 Northeastern run for a 53-44 lead. Gresham scored seven straight to put Northeastern up 60-49 with 6 1/2 minutes left. Delaware closed to 60-55 on Anthony Mosley's layup with 4:12 left, but was outscored 19-9 from there.

Delaware led 31-28 at halftime after holding the Huskies to 35.5 percent shooting from the floor and outscoring them 18-10 in the paint.

Daly and Ryan Allen scored 16 points apiece and Mosley had 13 for Delaware (11-10, 4-4).
