WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Chase Audige scored 17 points and William & Mary stormed back from an eight-point halftime deficit to knock off Drexel, 75-69, snapping a five-game Colonial Athletic Association losing streak Thursday night.
The Tribe knocked off Drexel 84-66 in Philadelphia, but dropped games to Hofstra, Northeastern, Elon, North Carolina Wilmington and Charleston.
James Butler dunked with :04 left in the first half to send the Dragons into intermission with a 39-31 advantage, but William & Mary rallied with a 17-3 run to surge into a 52-46 lead. Drexel retook the lead briefly when Troy Harper hit two free throws with 5:12 left for a 63-62 advantage, and the Tribe scored seven straight points to reclaim the lead for good.
Justin Pierce scored 16 points and Nathan Knight added 14 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, blocked six shots and dished five assists for William & Mary (8-14, 4-6).
Camren Wynter had 17 points and nine rebounds for Drexel (10-13, 4-6).
Jordan Roland had 26 points as Northeastern easily defeated Drexel 90-66 on Saturday. Vasa Pusica added 21 points for the Huskies. Pusica also had nine rebounds for the Huskies.
Anthony Green had 14 points and nine rebounds for Northeastern (20-10, 14-4 Colonial Athletic Conference), which earned its fourth straight victory. Bolden Brace added nine rebounds.
Northeastern totaled 53 second-half points, a season best for the team.
Camren Wynter had 19 points and eight assists for the Dragons (13-18, 7-11). Alihan Demir added 14 points and nine rebounds. Trevor John had 11 points.
The Huskies improve to 2-0 against the Dragons this season. Northeastern defeated Drexel 93-83 on Dec. 28. The Huskies and the Dragons next take the floor in the Colonial Athletic Conference Tournament.
Justin Wright-Foreman had 32 points as Hofstra narrowly defeated Drexel 80-77 to earn at least a share of the Colonial Athletic Association title on Thursday night.
Eli Pemberton had 15 points and six rebounds for Hofstra (24-6, 14-3), which has a one-game lead over Northeastern with one game left to play. Desure Buie added 15 points. Jalen Ray had 10 points for the visiting team.
Alihan Demir had 24 points for the Dragons (13-17, 7-10). Trevor John added 20 points and six rebounds. James Butler had 18 points.
The Pride improve to 2-0 against the Dragons this season. Hofstra defeated Drexel 89-75 on Dec. 30. Hofstra finishes out the regular season against Delaware on the road on Saturday. Drexel finishes out the regular season against Northeastern at home on Saturday.
