10 crazy Eagles stats while waiting around for Eagles-Rams

Ten random Eagles stats while you’re waiting … and waiting and waiting and waiting … for Eagles-Rams kickoff tonight!

1. Three stats that really illustrate how different a player Carson Wentz has been this year coming off his ACL surgery and dealing with a balky back:

• Wentz had 13 runs of 10 yards or more last year. He has two this year.

• After kneel-downs are removed, Wentz averaged 5.3 yards per carry last year and 3.3 yards per carry this year.

• Wentz ran the ball on a keeper 13 times on 3rd-and-1 or 4th-and-1 last year (and converted all 13). This year, he’s only carried on 3rd- or 4th-and-1 four times (converting three) and hasn’t converted since the first Dallas game.

2. This will be the fourth straight year the Eagles haven’t had an 800-yard rusher.

3. The Eagles had more touchdown passes of 40 yards or more in last year’s postseason than this year’s regular season.

4. The Eagles have allowed at least 540 or more yards in three of their last 14 games. They allowed 540 yards in two of their previous 833 games.

5. Josh Adams has a run of 18 yards or more in six straight games. That’s the longest streak by an Eagle since LeSean McCoy had an eight-game streak from Oct. 9-Dec. 1, 2011. During these last six games, Adams has the 24th-most carries in the NFL (72) but the third-most runs of 18 yards or more (behind Saquon Barkley with eight and Joe Mixon with seven).

6. Adams has 412 rushing yards and a 5.0 average. If he can maintain the 5.0 average and gain 88 yards the last three games, he’ll be only the 11th undrafted rookie since 1950 with 500 rushing yards and a 5.0 average.

7. The Eagles scored 30 or more points in 11 of 19 games last year. They’ve scored 30 or more just twice in 29 games in Doug Pederson’s two other seasons.

8. Even if his season is over after just 11 games, Wentz has already broken the franchise record for most games in a season completing 66 percent of his passes. Sam Bradford in 2015 and Donovan McNabb in 2004 shared the record with seven games, but Wentz hit on 66 percent of his passes in 10 of 11 games. Only 10 QBs have ever had more such games in a season. And only two have had more in their first three seasons — Dak Prescott (24) and Russell Wilson (23).

9. Dallas Goedert's 25 catches are fifth-most by a rookie Eagles tight end. With three more he’ll pass L.J. Smith and move into fourth. He’s 11 catches behind Zach Ertz, who caught 36 in 2013. Goedert is third among NFL rookie tight ends, behind only Chris Herndon of the Jets (29 catches) and Mark Andrews of the Ravens (26).

10. Hard to believe, but no NFC East wild-card team has won a playoff game since the 2008 Eagles. Several division winners have won in the wild-card round but not as wild-card teams.
