NFL betting: Lines on all 16 Eagles games

“16-0.”

Those words spoken from a confident Lane Johnson on Twitter shortly after the Eagles 2020 schedule was released. Now we all know Lane was joking, or was he? Bettors would love to echo that sentiment and fatten their wallets on the forthcoming season. While confined to home, what better way to pass the time then to dive into the point spreads even if it’s four months away from what we hope will be the start of the new football year on Sept. 13. In 2019, the Eagles were 9-7 straight up and 7-9 against the spread (ATS). This season they own the 8th easiest schedule. Let’s take an early look at the numbers courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Week 1 - September 13 - 1:00 p.m. Eagles at Redskins - PHI: 5.5-point favorites

It’s the second straight season the Birds open up against their divisional foes from our nation’s capital. The Eagles have covered 5 of the last 6 meetings while going 3-1-1 ATS all-time in week 1 games at Washington.

Week 2 - September 20 - 1:00 p.m. Rams at Eagles - PHI: 4.5-point favorites

The Eagles have won 6 in a row straight up agains the Rams. In the last 15 meetings, the Eagles have posted a very impressive 12-2-1 mark ATS.

Week 3 - September 27 - 1:00 p.m. Bengals at Eagles - PHI: 8-point favorites

Number one draft pick quarterback Joe Burrow likely comes rolling into Lincoln Financial Field with no chance to win, right? This one is hard to believe but the Eagles are 0-11 all-time ATS versus Cincinnati. The Eagles last beat the Bengals in 2000 and are 0-3-1 since that last win. Who could forget the tie in 2008: the infamous Donovan McNabb game in which he admitted he didn’t know regular season games could end in ties. He was in his 10th season.

Week 4 - October 4 - 8:20 p.m. Eagles at 49ers - PHI: 5.5-point underdogs

Traveling to the Bay Area from a betting angle has actually been quite good for the Birds. In their last 9 meetings out west the Eagles are 7-1-1 ATS. It’s the Eagles first trip to San Francisco, technically Santa Clara now, since 2014.

Week 5 - October 11 - 1:00pm Eagles at Steelers - PHI: 1.5-point underdogs

Assuming Ben Roethlisberger is back this won’t be an easy task. Eagles have had some success versus Pittsburgh covering 5 of the last 6 ATS.

Week 6 - October 18 - 1:00 p.m. Ravens at Eagles - PHI: 2.5-point underdogs

This is just the 6th meeting between the two I-95 neighbors. The Eagles are 2-3 ATS and they’ll have their work cut out for them against the elusive Lamar Jackson.

Week 7 - October 22 - 8:20 p.m. (Thursday) Giants at Eagles - PHI: 7.5-point favorites

It’s a short week for the Birds under the Thursday night lights. Fortunately the Eagles have shined in the Thursday night spotlight covering 5 straight games ATS.

Week 8 - November 1 - 8:20 p.m, Cowboys at Eagles - PHI: 3-point favorites

It’s the third straight home game for the Eagles and this time it’s a Sunday night showdown with Dallas. Eagles just 3-8 ATS at home versus the Cowboys in their last 11 matchups.

Week 9 - BYE

Week 10 - November 15 - 1:00 p.m. Eagles at Giants - PHI: 4-point favorites

Philly has fared quite well heading up the Jersey Turnpike. The Eagles are 10-2 straight-up against the Giants while going 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings in North Jersey.

Week 11 - November 22 - 1:00 p.m. Eagles at Browns - PHI: 1-point underdogs

Baker Mayfield provides plenty of swagger at quarterback despite going 12-17 in his first two seasons under center in Cleveland. Last season the Browns went 5-10-1 ATS. However, the dawg pound has been a “ruff” place for the Eagles. Philly just 1-4-1 all-time ATS.

Week 12 - November 30 - 8:15 p.m. (Monday) Seahawks at Eagles - PHI: 2.5-point favorites

After getting concussed in last season’s playoff game, let’s hope we are calling this the Carson Wentz gets his revenge on the Seahawks game. This begins a brutal stretch for the Eagles facing 3 straight Hall of Fame caliber quarterbacks starting with Russell Wilson. Including the aforementioned postseason game the Eagles are 0-6 straight up and ATS in their last 6 games versus Seattle.

Week 13 - December 6 - 4:25 p.m. Eagles at Packers - PHI: 2.5-point underdogs (posted before schedule released)

The Eagles are 2-3 all-time ATS vs Aaron Rodgers and the Packers in 5 meetings. Take into account the expected cold and nasty December elements at the frozen tundra and you don’t know what to expect.

Week 14 - December 13 - 4:25 p.m. Saints at Eagles - PHI: 1.5-point underdogs (posted before schedule released)

No rest for the weary as New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees comes to town. The Eagles are 2-4 ATS with Brees at the helm for the Saints. The thought of the Saints being an indoor team having to go outdoors is an advantage for the home team can be thrown out the door. Last season New Orleans went 6-1 straight up and ATS playing in the elements. They also owned a league best 11-5 record ATS last season.

Week 15 - December 20 - 4:05 p.m. Eagles at Cardinals - PHI: 2.5-point favorites (posted before schedule released)

The Cardinals should be improved with Kyler Murray entering his second season. Arizona has been a thorn in the side for the Eagles. The Birds are just 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games versus the Cardinals.

Week 16 - December 27 - 4:25 p.m. Eagles at Cowboys - PHI: 3-point underdogs (posted before schedule released)

The NFL has flipped the script putting a potential crucial divisional matchup in Dallas late this season. The Eagles are 1-3 ATS in the last 4 meetings at Jerry World.

Week 17 - January 3 - 1:00 p.m. Redskins at Eagles - PHI: 8.5-point favorites (posted before schedule released)

The Birds bookend the season with the Skins. The Eagles have won their last 3 games straight up (2-1 ATS) versus Washington at Lincoln Financial Field. Here’s a fun fact to leave you with: The last time the Eagles played the Redskins at home on the final day of the season was during the 2011 campaign. DeSean Jackson caught a 62-yard touchdown pass enroute to a 34-10 rout. Here’s to history repeating itself.
