Wentz a game-time decision for Colts in Week 3

Carson Wentz will be a game-time decision on Sunday against the Titans, Colts head coach Frank Reich said in Indianapolis on Friday.

Wentz sprained both ankles last week against the Rams. After missing the first couple days of practice this week, Wentz did practice on Friday.

He's officially listed as questionable.

While Wentz is no longer with the Eagles, his playing status is worth following all year because of the terms in the trade between the Eagles and Colts. The 2022 second-round pick the Eagles got in that deal can turn into a first-rounder if Wentz reaches a certain percentage of snaps.

One of two things has to happen for that pick to become a first-rounder:

1. Wentz has to play at least 75% of the Colts’ offensive snaps.

2. Wentz has to play at least 70% of the snaps and have the Colts make the playoffs.

We’ll be tracking Wentz’s snaps all season long.

Through two weeks, the Colts are 0-2, but Wentz has played most of their snaps. Even though he got injured in Week 2, he still played most of the game, missing just five plays.

Through two weeks, Wentz has played 138 of 143 offensive snaps (96.5%). The Colts have averaged around 72 snaps per game through two weeks, so if Wentz misses Week 3, he’ll likely be at around 64.2% on the season after three weeks with some ground to make up.
