Zangaro's best photos from Eagles' Super Bowl season
If you haven't seen it, there's a photo of Nick Foles and his baby daughter Lily that won a contest as the best feature photo from the 2017 season (see story).
That got me thinking about all the photos I took from the Eagles' Super Bowl run and as I started flipping through them, I figured I'd share. Now, I'm not a photographer and my iPhone 6 has its limitations (I know, I have to upgrade). But if I enjoyed looking back, you might too.
The New Guy
Alshon Jeffery was the Eagles' big free-agent acquisition. Here's him taking the field in training camp for the first time as an Eagle.
Military Appreciation Day during training camp has become a cool tradition. Each player lines up across the field from a service member and they walk toward each other before signing the jersey off their back and handing it to them. The players really seem to enjoy hanging out with the service members.
The season opened on Sept. 10 in Washington. Carson Wentz takes the field before the game.
The New Addition
The Eagles got Jay Ajayi for a fourth-round pick on Oct. 31. He made his Eagles debut a few days later against the Broncos.
The House That Trout Built
After the trip to Seattle, the Eagles spent a week in Southern California and practiced at Angel Stadium before the Rams game.
Each locker in the Angels' clubhouse had a Mike Trout bobblehead waiting in it. Nigel Bradham, who used Trout's locker, showed off his new toy.
'Sign His Leg'
Eagles vice president of football operations Howie Roseman signs an Eagles fan's prosthetic leg. Roseman wasn't the only one. The crowd around this gentleman kept chanting, "Sign his leg!"
This sunset took over the sky in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' NFC East-clinching win over the Los Angeles Rams on Dec. 10.
In the Nick of Time
The Eagles won in Los Angeles, but they also lost Carson Wentz for the season. Nick Foles took over the next week at New York.
A New Role
Carson Wentz's season was over, but he still remained a part of the team. Here he is taking the field before the regular-season finale vs. the Cowboys.
Before the NFC Championship game, Challenger the bald eagle soared to the field.
A Drum That Hits
The Roots played at halftime of the NFC Championship game and Questlove's drum looked the part.
The NFC Championship game actually went worse for the Vikings than this Viking.
This had to hurt for Vikings fans. About a week before the Super Bowl, the banners near U.S. Bank Stadium were swapped out.
Jason Peters talked to reporters at media night and said he was going to return next season.
The Eagles won Super Bowl LII, 41-33.
"I'm so excited for my team, this organization, but man, I'm so excited for these fans. I can't wait to get back to them and party." -- Brent Celek
"I'm just so happy for our fans. It's been something that I live every single day for. When I bought the team, all I wanted was to bring a championship to the most deserving fans in sports." -- Jeff Lurie
Passing the Torch
Despite their age gap, Corey Clement (left) and LeGarrette Blount (right) became close during the season and shared this moment after it was all over.
