Eagles' 2019 NFL schedule includes 5 primetime games

No, the Eagles aren’t playing on Thanksgiving this year.

That was the hot rumor leading into the official schedule release day, but instead, the Eagles will face the Vikings in Minnesota on Oct. 13 in Week 6.

That will be the Eagles’ first time back to U.S. Bank Stadium since winning Super Bowl LII to cap the 2017 season (see traveler's guide for road schedule). They will face their Super Bowl LII opponent, the Patriots, in Week 11.

The full Eagles 2019 schedule includes five primetime games, tied with a bunch of teams for the most in the NFL. The Eagles’ schedule last season and in 2017 also included five primetime games.

Here are their 2019 games in prime time:

• Sept. 15 at Falcons (Sunday night)
• Sept. 26 at Packers (Thursday night)
• Oct. 20 at Cowboys (Sunday night)
• Nov. 24 vs. Seahawks (Sunday night)
• Dec. 9 vs. Giants (Monday night)

Primetime games are nothing new for the Eagles. They have had more than just about any team in the league in recent years.

The Eagles get a Week 10 bye week, which is pretty close to the middle of the season and gives the Eagles an extra week to prepare for the Patriots. The Eagles are home the week before their only Thursday night game in Green Bay.

In October, the Eagles have three straight road games against the Vikings, Cowboys and Bills followed by three straight home games. That road trip starts a tough stretch in which they will play four out of six games against 2018 playoff teams in seven weeks.

The Eagles will open their 2019 schedule against Washington at home on Sept. 8. That’s a 1 p.m. game against one of their division foes. That’s a very winnable game — they’ve beaten Washington in each of the last four matchups — to start off the 2019 season on the right foot.

From there, the Eagles will travel to Atlanta for their first primetime game of the 2019 season. It’ll also be their first trip to Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Eagles will play the Giants twice in the last four weeks of the season and will finish the 2019 regular season in North Jersey for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Their last four games are division games.
