The Eagles (3-4) are traveling to Buffalo to take on the Bills (5-1) at New Era Field on Sunday.

Here’s everything you need to know:

12 p.m.: Eagles Pregame Live on NBCSP
1 p.m.: Eagles at Bills on FOX
4 p.m.: Eagles Postgame Live on NBCSP
6 p.m.: Birds Outsiders on NBCSP

The FOX broadcast team for Eagles-Bills is Chris Myers (play by play), Daryl Johnston (analyst) and Laura Okmin (sideline).

Merrill Reese, Mike Quick and Howard Eskin will have the call on 94WIP.

The referee for this game is John Hussey. The Eagles are 4-0 with Hussey as the referee, including wins over the Jaguars and Falcons last season. But the Eagles have actually been penalized more than their opponents (36-28) over those four games.

It’s desperation time

After losing their last two games by a combined 45 points, the Eagles are pretty desperate right now. The Cowboys are on a bye week, so the Eagles would fall even further behind with a loss. Since the current playoff format began (1990), teams that start the season at 4-4 have made the playoffs 32.2 percent of the time. Teams that start the season 3-5 have made the playoffs just 8.8 percent of the time.

That doesn’t mean it’s impossible. The Eagles were 4-6 last year and still found their way to the postseason, a feat that had been done just 7.5 percent of the time from 1990-2017. But a win on Sunday would go a long way.

Are the Bills good?

The Bills are 5-1, but their wins are over the Jets, Giants, Bengals, Titans and Dolphins — teams with a combined 6-27 record. The Bills’ only loss was to the Patriots on Sept. 29 and it was a close one, 16-10. They cut the Pats’ lead to a field goal early in the third quarter in that one before the Pats added another chip shot. Still, that’s a competitive game against an undefeated reigning Super Bowl champion.

Their defense is good

Maybe the Bills aren’t as good as their 5-1 record suggests, but their defense certainly seems pretty good. The Bills are third in the league in points allowed and yards allowed. They haven’t given up more than 21 points in any of their first six games.
