Eagles bring up practice squad player Chandon Sullivan to fill Derek Barnett's roster spot

The Eagles on Thursday placed Derek Barnett on injured reserve, officially ending his second season in the NFL.

While the Eagles officially made the move, we all knew it was coming. Barnett has surgery on his shoulder Tuesday morning.

Cornerback Chandon Sullivan has filled Barnett’s spot on the 53-man roster as the team gets ready to board its flight to London.

Sullivan, 22, came to the Eagles as an undrafted rookie from Georgia State and was impressive this summer. Sullivan had been on the practice squad all season.

There are now two players with the last name Sullivan on the Eagles: Tre Sullivan and Chandon Sullivan.

The Eagles have been a little light in the secondary with Sidney Jones (hamstring) and Corey Graham (hamstring) both dealing with injuries.
