The Eagles will try to get off to a 2-0 start when they face the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay at Raymond James Stadium.

Back in the Foles

The Eagles won in Week 1, which is all they really care about, but Nick Foles didn’t play very well. In fact, his passer rating of 50.7 was the lowest he’s ever had in a win. But there are a few factors that seem to be in Foles’ favor this weekend. He’s had an extra week of reps, he always seems to bounce back from his bad games and he’s had really good performances in Raymond James Stadium.
The Bucs scored 48 points last week, but their defense gave up 40. So Foles might be able to get cooking against a team with a banged up secondary.
Expect some green
Even with Hurricane Florence hitting the Carolinas, there will still be tons of Eagles fans in Florida for this weekend’s game. They’ll probably be staying in Clearwooder.
I’d imagine we’re going to see a lot of Eagles fans on the road this season, even more than in years past. I just wonder how it’s going to be split up. There are so many good trips this year: Tampa, Nashville, New Orleans, L.A. and London. I think Eagles fans will be well-represented on every stop.
“It’s great to see that sea of green in the stadium,” Doug Pederson said. “How they can be loud and kind of disruptive for the home team, it’s great. I think our fans travel extremely well. Got them all over the country, all over the world and would expect a pretty good crowd in Tampa this weekend.”
Hello, old friends
There will be a couple of familiar faces on the Bucs’ defensive line this weekend. Beau Allen and Vinny Curry are both starters for the Bucs’ pretty strong defensive line. Both had been in Philly for many years before and are now with their second teams.
Pederson said because of how much Allen and Curry know about the Eagles’ offense, the Birds have actually changed up some of their line calls this weekend. Pederson didn’t want to make too big a deal of it, but they have to be aware that these two guys know the offense.
