The Eagles on Thursday were awarded a waiver claim for safety Marcus Epps, a rookie sixth-round pick from Wyoming.
Epps was released Wednesday after the Vikings claimed safety Andrew Sendejo on waivers after he was released by the Eagles.
Oddly enough.
Epps becomes the 69th player on the Eagles’ 53-man roster this year.
Epps doesn’t have the experience the 10-year veteran Sendejo has, but he also has never tried to decapitate a teammate, as far as we can tell.
Epps has played in eight of the Vikings’ nine games, getting 76 snaps on special teams and 12 on defense.
In four years at Wyoming, where he started as a walk-on, Epps had nine interceptions, 19½ tackles for loss and 22 pass breakups. He wasn’t invited to the NFL scouting combine.

He’s the first Wyoming player on the Eagles’ roster since safety Chris Prosinski played in eight games in 2014.
The Eagles are back up to 10 defensive backs on the roster, including corners Ronald Darby, Jalen Mills, Avonte Maddox, Rasul Douglas, Sidney Jones and Craig James and safeties Rodney McLeod, Malcolm Jenkins, Rudy Ford and Epps.
Here’s a look at everybody the Eagles have added since the initial 53-man roster was set on Aug. 1. Out of this group, Ellis, Spence, Ward, Scandrick and Lewis are no longer with the team, although Ward is on the practice squad.
