Darren Sproles moved into fifth place all-time in NFL all-purpose yards.
And then he got hurt.
In the third quarter, Sproles took a quick trip to the blue medical tent and then went to the locker room. He has a quad injury and is questionable to return.
Just before the injury, Sproles passed Tim Brown to move into fifth place in career all-purpose yards.
Here’s how it stands now:
Jerry Rice: 23,546
Brian Mitchell: 23,330
Walter Payton: 21,803
Emmitt Smith: 21,564
Darren Sproles: 19,684
Tim Brown: 19,682
Sproles, 36, has had a pretty remarkable career. The only player above him in all-purpose yards that isn’t in the Hall of Fame is Brian Mitchell. Sproles will have an interesting case eventually.
