Eagles' Fletcher Cox reportedly agrees to restructure his deal

Another Eagle signed to a big-money contract has agreed to restructure his deal.

In this case, it’s the player with the biggest contract in defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Before you start connecting dots with news of Jay Ajayi’s injury and the continued holdout of All-Pro back Le’Veon Bell …

So what does it all mean?

Well, the Eagles are already right up against the cap with a little over $4 million in cap space before this news, according to Over the Cap. They’re $19,572,234 over the cap heading into next season without Cox restructuring. A huge chunk of that will come off the books when Nick Foles is likely traded or released, but they’ll still be right up against it.

With guys like Brandon Graham, Jordan Hicks and Ronald Darby on the last year of their deals, the space should come in handy.
