The Eagles are hiring Tyler Brown from Michigan as a special teams quality control coach, NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark confirmed.
Brown is a native of Marlton, New Jersey, and is the son of former Marlton mayor and Ravens special teams coach Randy Brown.

Brown has been with the University of Michigan as a special teams analyst since the 2016 season. Before then, he spent two years as a consultant for Temple’s football team.
According to his bio with Michigan, Brown is something of a kicking specialist:
“While he was in school, and in years prior, Brown established a track record of working with some of the top high school kickers in New Jersey. From the time he began privately training specialists in 2006 through his time at Rowan, he coached multiple specialists to All-Conference and All-State honors in New Jersey.”
With the Eagles, Brown will be working under new special teams coordinator Michael Clay and will presumably be working closely with kicker Jake Elliott, who had a down season in 2020.

After making 84.1% of his field goals in the first three years of his career, Elliott was down to 73.7% in 2020. While he made every kick from 39-49, he was just 1 for 3 in the 20s and 2 for 5 from 50+.
