PHOENIX — The Eagles won’t be the only birds at the NovaCare Complex this summer.
Head coach Doug Pederson on Tuesday morning said the Eagles will host the Ravens for training camp practices in the third week of training camp.
The Eagles last held joint practices with the Dolphins in 2017. After a year without them, the Eagles will practice against another team again this summer.
While in Arizona for the annual league meetings, here’s what Pederson said about the joint practices:
“Last year, it just didn’t work out. We were trying to get a couple teams last year and scheduled just didn’t work out. We reached out to a couple teams this year, Baltimore being one. They’re right down the road. It’s simple for them, it’s easy for us. We’ll get a chance to play them. We had a great experience two years ago with the Dolphins coming and we want to do it again.”
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that the Ravens have requested to play the Eagles in Week 3 of the preseason. So they would practice for a few days together before the third preseason game.
Joint practices can be a lot of fun and often bring an added level of intensity during a dragging training camp. The Eagles felt like they got really good work in with the Dolphins a couple years ago and even limited their starters in the third preseason game because of it.
