Eagles inactives: Avonte Maddox returns after missing several weeks

Share

LOS ANGELES — The Eagles will have rookie defensive back Avonte Maddox for the first time since he got hurt in New Orleans on Nov. 18.

He was questionable coming into the game.

As for the other questionable players, Michael Bennett (foot) is active. So is Shelton Gibson (wrist).

After Doug Pederson said Carson Wentz would be questionable, the team ruled him as doubtful on Friday and finally ruled him out for this game Saturday. No surprise. He has a stress fracture in his back and the Eagles are going to be cautious.

Without Wentz, Nick Foles will make his first start since Week 2. There seems to be a good chance Foles will be the starter the rest of this season, which is just two games after today.

Here’s the list of Eagles’ inactives:

Carson Wentz (back)
Jordan Hicks (calf)
Tim Jernigan (back)
Sidney Jones (hamstring)
Isaac Seumalo (pec)
Boston Scott
Matt Pryor

Without Seumalo, the Eagles will start Stefen Wisniewski. That left guard spot is one to watch tonight as Wisniewski will be facing Aaron Donald plenty.

Without Jones, we’ll see what the secondary looks like and where Maddox will play.

DE Daeshon Hall is active for his first game as an Eagle. RB Boston Scott, who was also brought in this week, is inactive. The Eagles chose to keep Wendell Smallwood active over him.
