Eagles inactives: Down 4 offensive starters vs. Seahawks

Share

The Eagles will be without four offensive starters on Sunday afternoon. Lane Johnson, Jordan Howard, Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor are all inactive.

While Johnson was ruled out on Friday, Howard, Jeffery and Agholor came into the weekend listed as questionable.

Here’s the Eagles’ full list of inactives:

Lane Johnson (concussion)
Jordan Howard (shoulder)
Nelson Agholor (knee)
Alshon Jeffery (ankle)
Nate Herbig
Shareef Miller
Nate Sudfeld

Meanwhile, the Seahawks will not have Jadeveon Clowney. That’s a huge loss for Seattle.

This means the Eagles’ receivers for this game are JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Mack Hollins, Jordan Matthews and Greg Ward. Expect a ton of 12 personnel (two tight ends) from the Eagles today.

Without Johnson, rookie Andre Dillard will start at right tackle for the first time in his life. He’s only ever been a left tackle. On Friday, he compared the switch to trying to write an essay with your non-dominant hand. Still, he said he was confident about it.

This will be Agholor’s first missed game since Week 12 of the 2016 season, when he was benched.

Greg Ward, who was called up Sunday, is active. Ward played in one game earlier this year and played just two offensive snaps without a catch. He could have a bigger role today.

And without Howard for the second straight game, expect Miles Sanders to get a bulk of the work. But Jay Ajayi will get mixed in too. He didn’t play at all last week, just two days after he signed.
