DeVonta Smith among long list of Eagles who miss practice

Eagles

Eagles first-round pick DeVonta Smith missed Wednesday’s practice with a headache.

The 22-year-old was not in attendance for the session.

Smith this season has had a pretty good rookie campaign. Through seven games, he has 32 catches for 406 yards and 1 touchdowns. He has clearly been the Eagles’ top receiver, although the Eagles are 18th in the NFL in points and 21st in yards.

Smith on Wednesday was just one of several key Eagles on the injury report:

Did not practice: DeVonta Smith (headache), Miles Sanders (ankle/foot), Fletcher Cox (rest), Javon Hargrave (shoulder), Anthony Harris (hands/groin), J.J. Arcega-Whiteside (back), Zech McPhearson (hamstring)

Limited: Lane Johnson (rest), Jason Kelce (foot/rest), Ryan Kerrigan (groin), Jack Anderson (hamstring)

That’s obviously a lengthy injury report for the Eagles on this Wednesday.

Hargrave is a new and significant addition to the report. But he also spoke to reporters on Wednesday, so perhaps that injury isn’t very serious.

Sanders is expected to miss some time with this ankle injury. He was seen leaving the facility in a walking boot on Tuesday.

Harris missed Sunday’s game with his injuries. In his absence Marcus Epps filled in.
