Eagles way healthier than Lions heading into Week 1 matchup

Share

All 52 Eagles on the active roster were full participants in Friday’s practice a couple days ahead of their season opener in Detroit.

The Lions aren’t so lucky.

While the Eagles are mostly healthy — aside from Andre Dillard (forearm) on IR — the Lions are already banged up heading into Week 1.

To start the week, the Lions put former Eagle Halapoulivaati Vaitai on IR. He’s their starting right guard. Now they will be without potential backup guard Tommy Kraemer, who was ruled out Friday.

The worst news for the Lions is that starting center Frank Ragnow is questionable. Ragnow was limited on Wednesday and Friday and missed Friday’s practice. With three injuries on the offensive line, the Lions might need to shuffle things around.

Here’s the full Lions’ game statuses for Sunday:

Out: G Tommy Kraemer (back), DL Levi Onwuzurike (back)

Doubtful: S Ifeatu Melifonwu (hamstring)

Questionable: C Frank Ragnow (groin), OLB Julian Okwara (hamstring)

The Eagles, meanwhile, didn’t give out any game statuses for their players, which means all 52 on the active roster are ready to go. Note: The Eagles have one spot open on their 53-man roster and will likely fill it on Saturday.

Miles Sanders (hamstring), Derek Barnett (ribs), Javon Hargrave (toe) and Josiah Scott (hamstring) were all full participants on Friday. Scott had been limited the previous two days.

And A.J. Brown, despite getting stung by a bee and needing an EpiPen shot before practice, was not listed at all on the injury report. He’ll be good to go too.
