Eagles Injury Update: Dallas Goedert misses practice but arm injury doesn't seem serious

Share

Rookie tight end Dallas Goedert was sitting out Eagles practice Sunday morning with an apparent minor right arm injury.

Goedert, who caught four passes for 66 yards and a touchdown in the first half of the preseason opener Thursday night against the Steelers, got dinged during open practice Saturday at the Linc (see story).

Twitter being Twitter, Goedert’s injury caused a frenzy Saturday evening after a series of ridiculous tweets citing other ridiculous tweets quoting other ridiculous tweets had Goedert leaving the Linc with an air cast on his arm.

Despite no evidence of any serious injury, speculation ran rampant that Goedert had suffered a broken arm and would miss significant time.

It only got worse when the Eagles — as per team policy — didn't comment on the injury.

There never was a broken arm. There never was an air cast. And there never was a serious injury.

There was still no word from the Eagles, but Goedert was out on the practice fields briefly early Sunday during team stretch before practice began and there was nothing at all on the right arm that he banged up one day earlier.

Goedert was laughing, smiling and could be seen pointing to the area on his arm where he got hurt.

Goedert could miss some practices and he could very well miss the preseason game Thursday night against the Patriots in Foxboro, Massachusetts, but organizationally, the Eagles are not concerned at all about any long-term issue.

Nick Foles, who missed several practices with neck spasms, was back at work Sunday for a second straight day after being a full participant Saturday.

Missing from practice were wide receivers Nelson Agholor, Mack Hollins and Markus Wheaton and running backs Corey Clement and Donnel Pumphrey.

Agholor hasn’t practiced since last Monday. Wheaton missed a few days, came back Tuesday, and hasn’t seen the field since. Pumphrey hasn’t practiced or played since leaving the field during practice. Clement hasn’t practiced since getting banged up in the game Thursday.
