Goedert misses another practice on COVID-19 list

The Eagles were still without Dallas Goedert as they got back on the practice field at the NovaCare Complex on Wednesday afternoon.

Goedert is still on the Reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive last week.

The Eagles placed Goedert on the COVID list last Tuesday, so he’s been on it over a week. He missed the game against the Buccaneers on Thursday.

In order for Goedert to be removed from the list, as a vaccinated player, he must be asymptomatic for 48 hours and test negative on PCR tests at least 24 hours apart. So he still has a decent shot to be ready for this next game.

The Eagles will certainly need Goedert going forward, especially after they traded Zach Ertz to the Cardinals on Friday. Goedert will get a chance to be the Eagles’ true No. 1 tight end the rest of the 2021 season and earn a contract extension as his rookie deal runs out.

In addition to Goedert, the Eagles were also without safety Anthony Harris on Wednesday. Harris suffered a hand injury last Thursday against the Bucs. He did return to finish that game but had his hand heavily wrapped on Wednesday.

Lane Johnson was back on the field, as expected, on Wednesday. Johnson has missed the last three games as he battled depression and anxiety.

Meanwhile, tight end Tyree Jackson and safety K’Von Wallace practiced to kick off the week too. Both had their 21-day practice windows activated earlier in the morning, which means the Eagles will have three weeks to get them back on the active roster.

For now, Jackson and Wallace remain on Injured Reserve and do not count toward the Eagles’ 53-man limit.
