Eagles injury update: Looks like Isaac Seumalo is taking back LG spot

It looks like Isaac Seumalo, who missed the last three games with a pec injury, is taking back his left guard spot for Sunday’s playoff game in Chicago.

In the portion of practice open to reporters, Seumalo took first-team reps next to Jason Kelce and Jason Peters, while his replacement Stefen Wisniewski worked with the second team.

You’ll remember, Wisniewski began the season as the starter at left guard but was benched after four games in favor of Seumalo, who played pretty well after early struggles.

Seumalo is the bigger, strong and more athletic of the two options, so it would make sense that the Eagles would want to get him back in against a vaunted Bears defensive line.

Seumalo, a third-round pick in 2016, left the game in Dallas with that pec injury and has missed all three games since. He was listed as limited on Wednesday’s injury report.

On Thursday, Seumalo said he was initially worried when he suffered his pec injury but has been working to regain strength in it since. He feels pretty good.

Here’s what Doug Pederson said earlier this week when asked if Seumalo would take back his starting job if healthy.

“First of all, we have to see,” Pederson said. “We have to see where he's at, No. 1 before we make any other changes at that spot.”

Benching Wisniewski won’t be a popular move among fans who watched him play left guard during the Super Bowl run last year, but it’s the right move as long as Seumalo is healthy. The Eagles should prefer to have him out there against the Bears.

Here's the full injury report from Thursday:

Did not practice: Carson Wentz (back), Michael Bennett (foot), Sidney Jones (hamstring), D.J. Alexander (hamstring)

Limited: Fletcher Cox (knee), Jason Peters (quad), Isaac Seumalo (chest), Mike Wallace (ankle), Avonte Maddox (oblique), Wendell Smallwood (hand)

Full: Nick Foles (ribs), Jason Kelce (knee)

Brandon Graham broke down the Eagles’ huddle Thursday:
