Eagles Injury Update: Wendell Smallwood returns to practice, A.J. Bouye is out

Updated: 3:58 p.m.

After missing Wednesday’s practice for a personal reason, Eagles running back Wendell Smallwood was back on the field Thursday.

That’s good news because he’s one of just three healthy running backs on the team, along with Corey Clement and Josh Adams. The Eagles leave for London later tonight and they’ll be bringing their surprise leading rusher with them.

LB Nate Gerry, CB Sidney Jones and RB Darren Sproles will not travel with the team to London, so they are officially out for Sunday’s game. Corey Graham didn’t practice on Thursday but will make the trip to London.

Here is Thursday’s full practice report:

Did not practice: Derek Barnett (shoulder), Gerry (ankle, knee), Corey Graham (hamstring), Jones (hamstring), Sproles (hamstring)

Limited: D.J. Alexander (quad), Lane Johnson (ankle), Haloti Ngata (calf), Jason Peters (biceps), Carson Wentz (back)

Full participant: Carson Wentz (back)

Meanwhile, the Jaguars will be without one of their starting corners. While Jalen Ramsey is expected to shadow Alshon Jeffery on Sunday, A.J. Bouye won't be able to go.

That would be a big loss for the Jaguars, but it’s not like the Eagles’ other outside receiver has been putting up big production. Bouye would have felt wasted on Jordan Matthews or a few snaps of Shelton Gibson. But now the Jaguars’ secondary is banged up between Bouye’s injury and D.J. Hayden’s toe injury. If they’re missing both of them, maybe the Eagles will actually be able to throw on them.

Carson Wentz, who was limited with a back injury Wednesday, practiced in full Thursday. This is the second straight week he’s been listed on the injury report with a back injury. The injury isn’t considered serious and Wentz is expected to be a full participant for the rest of the week and be good to go Sunday.

Rasul Douglas, who missed Wednesday for personal reasons, returned Thursday.
