The Eagles selected JaCoby Stevens out of LSU with the 224th pick (sixth round) earlier this month, which means Stevens held up his end of the bargain.
Now it’s time for grandma to pay up.
On the latest Eagle Eye podcast, Stevens said getting drafted was a dream of his as a child and he even made a bet with his grandmother about it when he was 5 or 6 years old.

“Getting drafted and hearing my name called during the draft was a big deal,” Stevens said. “It’s a dream come true. Just to hear my name called, every kid grows up wanting to be drafted. That’s one of the things I said I was going to do ever since I was young. In fact, I bet my grandma that I was going to get drafted so she has to hold her end up the bet up. She knows what that is.”

What was the bet?
“The bet was that if I made it to the NFL, she had to get a tattoo of the team logo that drafted me on her arm,” Stevens said. “So now she has to get an Eagle tattoo on her shoulder. I told her she didn’t have to do it but she said she’s going to hold up to it. It’s going to be interesting.”

Stevens, 22, will be in Philadelphia later this week for the start of Eagles’ rookie camp to begin his NFL career. The former LSU safety is being listed as a linebacker with the Birds but has talked plenty about position less football.
