Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin received messages of support from the entire sports world Monday night, including a pair of Eagles with close ties to the 24-year-old Pennsylvania native, in the hours after Hamlin collapsed on the field in Cincinnati.

The second-year player was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after he suffered a cardiac arrest, according to the Bills, and was sedated and in critical condition as of 1:48 A.M.:

Immediately, players from around the league sent numerous messages of support to Hamlin and his family on social media. Fans also flooded Hamlin's GoFundMe toy drive, donating over $3 million in one night.

Eagles running back Miles Sanders and cornerback Avonte Maddox, both of whom have close ties to Hamlin, sent multiple messages of support and prayer.

Sanders and Hamlin went to high school less than 10 miles away from each other in Pittsburgh, both graduating high school in 2016. Their schools faced off three times during those years.

Maddox was a junior and senior at Pitt when Hamlin was a freshman and sophomore. They both appeared in nine games in the Panthers' secondary in 2017, Hamlin's first year of significant playing time in college.
