Eagles bring back veteran defensive tackle to practice squad

The Eagles on Wednesday morning brought back veteran defensive tackle T.Y. McGill, signing him to their practice squad.

McGill, 27, was signed during training camp on Aug. 26 but released at final cuts. The Eagles told McGill when they released him that practice squad was a possibility.

This move gives the Eagles some more depth at defensive tackle. They have four on the active roster in Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Javon Hargrave and Hassan Ridgeway. They now have two defensive tackles on the practice squad.

The Eagles now have a full active roster and practice squad. They have 53 players on their active roster and 16 players (plus international exemption Matt Leo) on their practice squad.

McGill has been in the NFL since 2015, when he went undrafted out of North Carolina State. He has been with the Seahawks, Colts, Browns, Chiefs, Chargers, Washington, Saints and this is his second stint with the Eagles. In total, he has played in 37 NFL games and has five sacks. He played in two games with the Eagles in 2018.
