Breaking down wild Eagles' betting movement this offseason

The Eagles have had a busy offseason and sports books have been playing catch up as fans around the league take notice and wager their money.

After the latest flurry of action, including the trade for A.J. Brown and the James Bradberry signing, the Eagles’ odds to win the Super Bowl have shortened all the way to 30/1.

PointsBet senior editor Teddy Greenstein was on Birds Huddle to break down on the movement.

“The Eagles were 50/1, then 33/1 and now all the way down to 30,” Greenstein said. “And they, in fact, are our most bet upon team for the Super Bowl. Says a lot right there. Says a lot about A.J. Brown that a lot of money has floated on the Eagles.”

The Eagles are a popular team but they’ve also been very popular among bettors this offseason after they added players like Brown, Bradberry, Haason Reddick, Kyzir White and then added what appears to be a strong draft class.

Add all that to a team that won nine games under a new coaching staff and first-year starting quarterback and one that has one of the easiest schedules on paper in 2022, and it’s easy to see why so many bettors are high on the Eagles.

In fact, the Eagles’ over/under win total has risen from 8.5 to 9.5 with the latest additions.

“And, honestly, it’s very unusual for these numbers to move like that,” Greenstein said. “Sometimes you see a shift in the juice. But to climb a whole number is very interesting.”

Greenstein said PointsBet is taking more action on the under, which is going off at -120 (bet $120 to win $100). So if you really like the over 9.5, you’ll like that you can get it for +100 (bet $100 to win $100).

As you might expect, the Eagles’ odds to win the NFC East have also improved greatly. The Cowboys are still the favorite to win the division but “it’s compacted,” Greenstein said.

Here’s where the division odds began and where they’ve moved this offseason:

Cowboys: -165 —> +115

Eagles: +325 —> +200

Commanders: +550 —> +475

Giants: +1000 —> +700
